Bachelor degree project
2022

For my degree I aimed to create a thoughtful and provoking concept for an urban accomodation. It points out more sustainable and still very delightful solutions in hospitality, which could further be implemented in the topic of public housing as well.

As our environment is progressing to get fed up it becomes more and more urgent to question our ways of living. Both architecture and the sector of tourism and hospitality take a great toll in this topic, therefore i decided to follow minimalistic measures and to redefine normas. I questioned the use, the size and the ergonomy of space and the roots of needs and patterns of consumption.

The plan is not designed to fit a specific site, or else, it is designed to be variable and flexible enough to be able to occur in various urban situations. The plan includes 2 building types, 1 social building and 1 private function, the living tower. These two can be repeated any times depending on the current site and the needs of the area.

The tower is modular itself, it consists of variable pods whose amount and type can be fitted to the circumstances. The pods are designed to meet all the realistic needs of guests, but do not offer too much more.

The living tower works doubled, connected by a uniquely constructed metal staircase structure supporting the idea of the adjustibility of the whole complex.

I designed a community building for the optimization of space considering the complex, and also to propagate the idea of togetherness and opportunities for communal living in cities, despite the tendencies for self distancing.

As a part of my project I chose two existing sites with different qualities to illustrate my proposition. The sites are both in Győr, Hungary.

The project was made at the University of Sopron, Hungary.
